La Ville de Richmond vise à réduire son utilisation d’eau potable

Le gouvernement du Québec a renouvelé en 2019 sa Stratégie québécoise d’économie d’eau potable afin d’atteindre d’ici 2025 trois objectifs.

  1. Réduction de 20 % de la quantité d’eau distribuée par personne par rapport à l’année 2015;

Selon les données de 2018, chaque richmondaise et richmondais consommait environ 488 litres d’eau par jour. Cette consommation est très semblable à celle de la moyenne québécoise. Néanmoins, elle est de loin plus élevée que la moyenne ontarienne qui est de 386 litres d’eau potable, et ce, selon une statistique de 2015. Bonne nouvelle, depuis 2015 la consommation des citoyens de Richmond a tout de même diminué de près de 4%. Ce qui signifie, qu’afin d’atteindre l’objectif de réduction de la quantité d’eau distribuée par personne, il ne reste plus qu’à diminuer de 81 litres d’eau par jour sa consommation personnelle.

  • l’arrosage des pelouses, haies, arbres, arbustes ou autres végétaux distribué par des asperseurs amovibles ou des tuyaux poreux est permis uniquement de 20 h à 23 h les jours suivants : un jour où la date est un chiffre pair pour l’occupant d’une habitation dont l’adresse est un chiffre pair; un jour où la date est un chiffre impair pour l’occupant d’une habitation dont l’adresse est un chiffre impair;
  • il est interdit à toute personne d’utiliser de façon délibérée un équipement d’arrosage de façon telle que l’eau s’écoule dans la rue ou sur les propriétés voisines;
  • le remplissage d’une piscine ou d’un spa est interdit de 6 h à 20 h;
  • le lavage des entrées d’automobile, des trottoirs, des patios ou des murs extérieurs d’un bâtiment n’est permis que du 1er avril au 15 mai.

 

L’objectif de la Ville est donc posé, une diminution quotidienne de 81 litres d’eau distribuée par citoyens d’ici 2025. Le conseil municipal ainsi que l’administration publique ont besoin de chaque citoyen pour y arriver.
